'96 LX 450 What's it worth?

I have already checked KBB and Edmunds, but I would like to know what you guys think. I haven't looked at it up close yet, so I don't know if the lockers are on it. Specs:

'96 Lexus LX450, 153,000 miles
-Moonroof
-Leather
-Basically loaded, but not sure about lockers yet

What do you guys think?-With and w/o lockers?

My guess is as a private sale it should go for somewhere around 11-12K. If it has diff locks then maybe a grand more. Mind you that this is a real guess-timate. A stealer on the other hand would probably want around 17k for it.

As far as the engine and drivetrain go: with regular maint and oil changes, it should carry you well over the 300k mark.

Personally I'd feel better if I paid near 10k for a ride with that mileage, but that probably won't happen. I certainly wouldn't pay more than 13, even with the diff locks and an immmaculate interior.

Give us the details and pics when you get them.

If I do get it, I'm going to try and look at it tomorrow, maybe.

I just listed mine on ebay. I bought a 100 series (incredible custom cut up rig). I'll post some pics of it later. It should be arriving at the end of the month.

For now, I'm going to make some room. Initially I was going to keep the LX450 for my daughter to drive once she turns 16. The protection is there, but theres not much in the way of agility and braking, especially for a new driver.

I'm leaning toward a 2nd or 3rd Gen Runner for her birthday in Nov.

Anyway, heres the link. The reserve is set at 14k, I know what I wrote earlier about 13k and at this point 13k is probably the least I'd take. Ebay Listing

Ok, I think I have it. The pic of my 100. This is why I'm selling the LX450!

Just to let you know, there's another auction of a Landcruiser with half the miles and same equipment right now:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I don't know what his reserve is but it must be over 18k since he's relisted the truck and his first auction ended at $17,400 w/no sale. Just warning you in case bidders don't meet your reserve due to the mileage.

Thanks for the heads up. I listed it high, because it was Ebay, I'd rather see it go to a Toyota Fan though. I may rethink my reserve as the week nears an end.

Thanks,

Doug M.

No problem. You bought the big boy from Ebay I see, that thing will do some wheeling! It'll miss being in Colorado and playing in the mountains, not many of those in Naples!

Wow, that is a nice looking cruiser. If I have the money I will make it into a project for off road. First thing will be OME suspension, ARB snorkel, bigger rim and tires. I'm drooling over this cruiser.

I drove the Lexus today, it's loaded but w/o lockers and has 153k miles. It was clean, but not as clean as the pics of yours. It shows no signs of being offroad ever, but the steering felt worn. The motor was very smooth and had decent power. I think I'm gonna pass even though I can get it for $9000, maybe less. If it had the lockers, I would have driven it home.

BTW, that 100 series is awesome, I would love to have that, but I don't wheel enough to really use it.

Dragr1: Sorry to hear you didn't end up with the LX. Keep looking, theres always a decent deal right around the corner.

RWMorrison: Nope, not even as much as a hill here. Theres some decent trail riding and as you probably know, mucho, mucho mud. About an hour north of here there are some decent areas to run near the center of the state in whats known as the spine of Florida. The spine area runs down the center of Florida and offers some elevation changes that Naples doesn't have.

I'd love to take it to central america with me.

Thanks for the comps on the 100.
