My Axial Wraith
Decided to throw my own thread together so I can quit clogging up Superbleeder's thread
Viewing some pictures on Expo's site from the Pomona coverage a few weeks back I saw a kid holding the Wraith box so I Googled it, and found out it is one of the hottest rock crawler/racers out right now.
Had my local hobby shop order it for me which took about a week to get it in from California.
I have been wanting to get a crawler for quite some time now, but I was not to keen on just going slow.
The Axial Wraith does both slow rock crawling and fast driving.
Also has an electronic brake so you can be on a steep incline/decline, and when you input no motion, it will hold still instead of rolling forwards/backwards.

YouTube vids
There are a ton of videos on both YouTube and Vimeo of the Axial Wraith, but here are some of the better ones IMO.

Links to items I bought to go along with the Wraith:
WGT411 Wing Tote 1/8-1/10 Truck Tote Deluxe Blue

Maxtech 16521MX 32-Piece Precision Bit Set

You have to supply the batteries for both the transmitter (4 AA) and some 7.4v Lipo batteries for the Wraith.
Other than the batteries, the Wraith is almost ready to go out of the box with the exception of needing an small extension cord as seen further down.
You will also need a charger, and one of the techs at Axial recommended this one to me.
Dynam Supermate DC6 Double power Balance Charger

GENS ACE LIPO 5000mAh 40C 7.4V lipo battery pack ROAR approval

5000mAh 2S 7.4V 30C LiPo, Hard Case

Bought two of these since they came with wires, the Gens did not come with wires, then I found the link below to order wires for the batteries by themselves.
Venom 4MM Bullet Plugs to Uni Plug for 2S LiPo

In the future if I need more batteries, I will stick with the Gens ones since I have a few wire sets now, and they are way cheaper than the ones I bought from Amazon that came with wires.
Found out the battery wires are about two inches to short to reach the Wraith when the battery is inserted in its tray, so I picked up this extension.
Dynamite Charge Adapter Tamiya Female to Deans Male ~ 5000

Below are some cool accessories I ordered, and they showed up a few days ago.
Not sure when I will get them mounted to the rig, need plenty of free time which I find very hard to find these days
Scale Accessory - Roof Rack
for 1:10 Crawlers, SC, and Monster Truck Bodies

Scale Accessory - Assortment #1

Scale Accessory - Assortment #2
for 1:10 Crawlers and Monster Truck

I do not have to many pics of the Wraith yet, but I will post up more in the future and when I get the accessories mounted to it.
I will get some videos of it in action too with my GoPro HD camera mounted to the rig perhaps, or via the headband mount on my noggin.

Comparison shot of a 1/18 scale Losi 4WD racer I bought three years ago.

AirBike 600 lumen LED light mounted to the bumper.
The light output at night is insane, looks like a real headlight shining on the ground.

Two videos from earlier today at home.
Wish I had seen the water on the lens in the first video, I would have dried it off.
Youngest son just left, he was having a blast with it on that same tree.

Thanks Travis, your rig has been an inspiration to get back into this again.
I pulled the roof off of it yesterday to see how to go about installing the roof rack.
It is going to have just a tad of room each side for the original five screws to hold back down the roof again.
Tricky part will be getting the four installation holes aligned up correctly, but I hope to tackle this today.
I found a few sources for bungee cords out there, and I bought two sets this morning.
This will keep the cooler, Hi-Lift, and all the other goodies in place.

Got the roof rack mounted a bit ago.
Kind of a pain without a template to drill the holes, but I manged to get them all lined up correctly.
Waiting on the bungee cords which should be here by the end of the week to secure the items to the inside and outside of the rack.
I have small zipties, but I would prefer to use the bungees.
Here are a few pics from today:
Hi-Lift jack will be mounted here with two bungees.

Front shot showing the cooler, recovery gear box, fuel can, shovel and axe off to the sides, and a mattock at the far rear of the rack.

Side view of the shovel.

Side view of the axe and also the Hi-Lift mounted to the front of the rack to see how it looks compared to being on the front bumper.

Winch is just pressed on between the rear lights, I may or may not mount it back there.
Not really a place to mount it up front.

Dug into my sticker stash, and I have around three of the small ARB stickers still.

cool! looks good man!
there's a lexan 2nd gen 4Runner body out there for sale that I'd like to eventually put on my chassis
when I go that route, I'll go all out with the scale accessories and put the roof rack full of junk in it

Thanks, got it outside a bit ago for some early morning fun.
The only thing I used one of the small bungee cords on was the Hi-Lift and the driver.
The rest of the stuff on the rack I used Zip-ties.
Meet the new driver
