Rear diff/axle questions
Greetings,
Im giving some love to my 2wd 84 toyota pickup and was looking into rebuilding the rear diff and adding an eaton elocker. I wanted to go with an 8" diff so i could have a little added strength but what i am learning is that those diffs use 30 spline axles and i might have compatibility issues. My truck has 5 lug axles but i dont know how many splines.
Does anyone on here have any suggestions about what direction to head? I want to modify as little as possible but still get the benefit of a selectable locker in the rear end.
thanks!

Most 84-95 2wd pickups came with the 7.5" rear axle, some have an 8" like all the 4x4s got. The 86-95 IFS 4x4 4 cylinder front ring and pinion, differential carriers, and bearings are compatible with 2wd 7.5" rear axle, so if a locker fits the front of an IFS 4x4 you should be able to put it in your 2wd like the ARB air locker.
