As far as i've understood it, if you have a solid front axle, the front and rear are interchangable. Independent front diffs are 7.5 inch and won't work in the rear axle.

8" diff is an 8" diff front or rear is irrelevant.
Try searching just a tad next time.

You need to go back and search and read some more. I got a floor of 8" diffs all setup the same way that will drop into either axle of my 85 4Runner.

only 7.5 inch front diffs are reverse cut.

I blew my rear third in my old truck, put in a third from a front axel and didn't go in reverse... they are the same.

LOL...

They're same Toyota never reverse cut the front gears, the gears are strong enough. Little different story with high pinion but you don't run a HP outback anyway.
