How much did you have to crank up the torsion bars? Is the ride quality still good/comparable to stock? Tires rub at all?

The Torsion bars are cranked almost all the way up to get my current look shown in the pictures.
Ride quality is very stiff to be honest. Has a stiffness well beyond a sport suspension setup for a car feeling like a race stiffness. If you hit a pothole it feels like life may end! I really love the look and stay on smoother roads so i have been dealing with it. Also drive on some gravel roads and it feels ok to me just will feel the stiffness of the frontend on the deeper holes along the gravel surface.

I am not getting any rubbing at all with this setup.

If you load firewood or anything like that in the bed the rear end flattens out and does not look like its holding a heavy load.

I slapped 235/75/15 Dirt Commanders on the back to improve handling on dirt roads but I want a slight lift on the front so I can put mudders on the front too.

1988 Toyota pickup 2wd

I’m a little over late on this thread but I love all the builds in it and wanted to show off my little piece of pie.
names “Cow” 1988 Toyota pickup dlx 2wd
Would love to make this truck good for off roading and snow but still be good for dd, any suggestions and advice would be appreciated
Awesome little truck! Got it from my grandpa about a year ago with 308k when I turned 16.
new spark plugs, carb, distributor and wires, wanted it to be louder so I cut the cat and muffler off( sounded like a tractor) and I welded a new cat and flowmaster on! Just need to finish the exhaust because it’s just under the cab right now and way too loud to talk to my lady while driving. I did a speaker system and bangs!!!! Buddy gave me a camper shell off of a 93 pickup that they sold and I’m going to build a camping setup so I can sleep where ever and whenever I want!
pros:
gets 25 mpg!
25$ to fill up, in this day and age! Holy moly!
it’s a manual. SO FUN TO DRIVE

cons:
I may of rear ended somebody and took all of the damage(may be a good thing) front end got a little squished and need a new ac condenser.

grandpa put a new bed because the truck got hit. That’s why it’s a two tone!

front main seal is leaking and needs to be replaced. If anyone knows how easy that could be I would appreciate the advice

thats all from my big mouth. Thanks for reading!
Day I got it

Alternator went out and had to call AAA
