Made some progress on the front end tear down/install. It sits a little wider than I was expecting, but I like it a lot. I put a ton of time into stripping down & prepping the kit with some fresh charcoal metallic paint. I am doing the small stuff like cutting off the shock mounts, drilling out the steering knuckle and center link for 5/8" bolts, may need to cut the droop stops, should also probably finish the factory weld on the cross shaft nuts.
There's still a ton of small assembly things left to do at this point. I should be able to tackle those & build the shock mounts tomorrow & hopefully build the tie rods.
Also picked this pile up before I tore into everything.

Pulled the lowers off, threw a piece of 1.75 DOM in the arm in the bumpstop area. Also threw a chromoly plate on the backside of the arm for a little more peace of mind. Drilled out the frame bumpstop area while the arms were off. Still need to build a mount for the power steering reservoir, but getting ready for final assembly.

First street test drive. Rear tires are rubbing too bad to really feel it out. Still need to do some refinements on steering, alignment & ride height. Pretty pumped on it. I'll have to snap some pics, but I've pretty much moved everything off the inner fenders, so a tube structure for the grill & lights will be happening soon.

Couple small updates, that make big differences.
Threw in some fender mounting tabs underneath the corner lights. This reduced a lot of rattles. Seems insignificant, but a squirt of WD40 into all the locks, made a nice difference, it was so bad I was afraid I was going to snap the key! I also mounted the hood with proper alignment, & the correct diameter pins.
Been working on finishing up the firewall clearance patches. Caulking pin holes, re mounting the ecu/fuse box, and throwing some bed liner on the exterior portion. I noticed a ton of new noise with all the insulation removed, so I picked up some sound deadener. I'll be doing the firewall, floor, and doors with this stuff. Gotta keep it quiet and comfortable for my kid.

Not sure if it's worth my effort, but I guess I'll continue to update the thread
So far so good with the Kilmat. I've done my firewall, 80% of my floor, back wall and doors. You can feel the extra weight in the doors and they close so much more solid. You can have a conversation doing 75, which is about the top speed down hill with a tail wind!

Headed out to Johnson Valley to meet some friends. Had a few last minute things on the to do list before the trip. Mounted the battery in the cab, built a better intake mount, extended some wiring under the hood, installed one of my bucket seats on the factory slider, & threw a couple more washers in for alignment. The first drive after the washers was a 3 hour road trip, thankfully it still drove straight!
The truck did great on the way out other than sitting so low that the tires were buzzing the wheel wells on bumps on the freeway. The stock rear suspension is holding me up in a huge way, so the Deavers are definitely coming soon. The bunny hopping rear end and 90+ degree heat were a little rough on my 4 year old so we had to take off a little sooner than I hoped. Overall a good couple days, and a solid first shakedown for the truck.

Got 4 hood pins on this thing so the hood finally is solid and not rattling. I have almost all the parts to do the Deaver install, but I have been super busy working on other people's trucks. In the mean time I pulled the overload, added a random 30" long leaf, and an add a leaf. I also had a set of white rockets to add to the rear. Big improvement over stock 25 year old blown out parts! Was also able to throw a spare 33 in the factory location

The truck looks way more balanced with the changes to the rear leafs! And the tires don't rub!
Not everyone who reads this thread will comment. I have been following this build from the start. Keep at it!
