Anyone know anything about Toyota rear ends? I have a 1988 2wd and I'm pretty sure i have a 7.5 rear end on this truck since it was the most common for this year and i was planing on doing an LSD/gear job on it but if there is a rear end out there that has LSD stock maybe the 4x4, 8 inch rear end idk...it would be nice is someone can enlighten me b/c i cant find much on rear ends anywhere just numbers nothing about LSD. reason why i ask is b'/c i plan on doing a desert truck build and i don't want to be in the dunes with a peg leg..So my questions are : Is the 4x4 8 inch rear end lsd? (it most likely is hence the meaning of 4x4 but just to clarify) and can i swap it over to my 2wd?

Sounds like you could use the supra 7.5" LSD.

 

yea i was looking into that but so far its all for 8 inch rear ends out of a 4x4 also turbo supras are hard to find in wrecking yards

 

How do you decode the gear ratio code on the Vin sticker in the door jam ???
