I found a 1974 hilux on CL here in western PA. Its a 2wd with a 20r swap and a 5 speed. Its in pretty good shape, very little rust I can see. It does have a problem where it blows white smoke when running. Im thinking head gasket.

Now I want to buy this truck for a gas saver, and because it looks awesome.

What would you guys think someone would pay for a truck like that?

 

i've been looking at a lot of old 70s Hiluxes in CA, and see them anywhere from $500-5000. For something that runs, I'd say it's in the $1-3k range. Higher price for original and clean specimines. Lower pricing for the non-runners or rust buckets. Either way, they should still hold some value because they are somewhat rare and are pre-smog.
