Knives anyone?

Knives anyone?
I've been looking to get a new knife. I've had my Walmart Gerber for about a year and a half and its getting pretty dull. I would like to get something a little better quality. This knife has held up pretty good, minus the blade. I know I can get it sharpened but I'm the kind of guy who likes new toys haha.
So post up your recommendations. Thanks all

I have always heard that SOG knives are supposed to be very good. Also, I have a cpl of Ka-bars that I like. I have the fullsize USMC and the small KDI. The KDI was designed for Law Enforcement to wear on the inside of their duty belt. I wear mine frequently on a regular belt and just drape my shirt over it. The KDI is a good "get the !!!! off me knife" and with the serrated blade it makes a good little machete. I have taken mine and hacked down small sapplings really well. https://www.kabar.com/product_detail...uctNumber=1480

SOG, Ka-bar, and American made Gerbers are what the special forces use.
This is the Gerber that I really want, LMF II http://www.gerbergear.com/index.php/product/id/63
I've had my Gerber Freeman for 3 hunting seasons and it has held up beautifully.

I've also been looking at Cold Steel. The Cold Steel Caladonian Edge would be ideal but its a bit pricey. My dad has this knife http://www.coldsteel.com/caledonianedge.html
I'm kind of looking at the Cold Steel Recon 1 now. It seems to be pretty good as well

Mostly I bought them because the 13yr old Junior Fuster thought they were cool. He takes the Seal Pup when he goes camping. Doubtlessly, he uses it for anything he can even when another device would be more appropriate. he is 13 so his descretionary instincts are completely undeveloped and he likely has abused the blade in some of the most undesirable ways. To date, the edge is still shaving sharp and the finish has maintained it's integrity; though a little scuffed from hacking at stumps and such.
He stabs a lot of cardboard boxes too

I don't carry a knife on a normal basis, It makes me feel like a butch.
The only time I carry a knife is when i go camping, then I bring my smith and wesson butterfly knife that I got from my grandpa a couple of years ago. It's about 30 years and still in Really good condition

nice corey, looks like it would come in handy unless you get attacked by a bear... i never go camping in the woods without my big green bayonet. i HAVE been attacked by a coyote.... next morning we had coyote stew.... tasted strange.. lol.
i thought coyotes would rather run from you than attack you if they are by themselves...

Benchmade is the way to go. I got mine about 5-6 years ago and it has held up great. It looks beat but it has never failed me. It holds an edge very well and I can do stuff with it I'm not supposed to do . Like using the blade to pry stuff open or apart.
Also remember that there are different grades of Benchmades, HK,Gold, Blue, Black and Red . Mine is one of the middle grades, I can't remember which.
