I have been using the eastwood chrome powder

http://www.eastwood.com/hotcoat-powd...rome-8-oz.html

if I had a tumbler , it is suppose to be real shinny , just like chrome ... but no tumbler .

I'm ok with this look .. it's pretty close to chrome ....

edit : modified the link so it works

started the tear down this morning .. pulled the truck in my shop and got to work .

canopy was the first thing to go

and then removed the bed
I was actually excited to see the out come of this , as I have only done this once before on one of my old beds . as I mentioned earlier , this bed was installed at my shop ~ 10 / 11 years ago , so I was anxious to see what it actually looked like after so many years . my personal DD has had it's bed on it's truck now for 15 years , but someone else's truck is always good "gauge" as well .

so heres what we got

other then the inner paint , and under side paint , everything is GREAT , I'm super happy with what I have to work with , and It should last at least another 15 years ... easily !!

anyway .....

also , got the tranny out

Time is the most difficult part to find

Bed does look good for all the years and the weather conditions that you have to deal with. A great testament for it. The rest of the truck looks like it has held up well too.

Very happy with those results .. worked a little on it today , got the seats unbolted , and the trim out , I just have to remove the 4 rear cab bolts , and steering column , and cab is ready to come off .
center console armrest bad is worn out as well , so I had previously removed it , and gave it to a friend , so while she was out shopping , she could look for some "cheep" leather for me ... well today , she was in "value village" and found an old leather coat , waist coat in great shape .. perfect color match ... $15.00 bucks ... bought it , so now I have some nice quality leather (real leather) I can make a new console cover , and shifter boots ... on the CHEEP

and now I can get to work on the frame

also .. "blasted" the bellhousing and painted ... I just needed to see some color . I think the gold is going to go well with the accent in the original tribal decals that are going on the outside .. this is also going to be the engine block color

Color is in the eye of the beholder

[John Deer Green........UOTE=slacker;52251412]so I have a bit of a dilemma ....

I'm in the process of building the engine .. and im at the point of painting the block .

color is my dilemma

I don't want to paint it black because it will get lost in the "sea of black" on this engine already

BROWN , the same color of the truck is really what it should be , but , I'm afraid it just wont look that good .

RED , is the color I usually paint "custom" jobs , so I'm thinking this might be a good color

Blue , well I'm just not sure this will match anything else , and clash with ..well everything

I think red right ?
