Looks great! Your build is a testament to patience and doing things right.

What are you using to paint your interior plastic and vinyl pieces? Have you used it before? I'm tempted to paint some of my interior pieces, but I have concerns about the long term durability of the paint. Would like to hear your thoughts on this.

last truck I did the interior on .. (the white knight) I used a vinyl dye .. it worked great , and would recommend it .. lasted about 6 years with no wear , before I parted the truck out

this time .. I was talked into a NEW process .. so as for the longevety , I dont know ...

lightly scuffing the plactic first .. then a plastic adhesion promoter .. (I chose the cloth wipe) . then using dupont interior vinyl paint/dye (special color mix , with flex agent) sprayed on 3 light coats ..

dont know yet the durability , other then to say , I have "knocked" some pieces accedentally , with no affects to the color .. so far so good ..

started working on the rear bumper ..

I decided to go with a 84-89 4Runner rear.. stock Trekker bumpers are no longer avaliable , and I wanted chrome anyway ..

so here's what I did .

I got a "mock up " bumper from a buddy , so I was able to set it up on my jack stands , to get a good position ..

tucked well into the body , it fits great ..

I'm lovin' it ..

so with it set in position , time to make up some brackets

mocked up with cardboard first .. and transfered to steel plate , and cut

cleaned up and bent with 70ton press

got it welded , and then prepped for the POR-15

also while I was there , I needed to make my support bracket for the rear camera ..

and got it all por-15'd ..

Thanks for the response. I was thinking of doing something along those lines. Yours looks great, so I think I will give it a try on some spare interior parts I have.

yeah .. I might just shorten it up a bit "suck" in the ends a bit closer to the body .. looks better in person , but I still might just do it ..

That console looks awesome. Really well thought out, I'd love to have the gauges and the cupholders. Where'd you get the outer shift boot from?
