Hello everyone! I'm new from calgary,Ab and need mechanics help im fairly new to the toyota diesel world and i purchesed a 92 surf 2L-TE auto. It alread had the 2.8l head conversion and since then have spent close to $3000 at the local "specialty shop" !!! Well guess what?!.....still runs like garbage and consumes way too much fuel. They tell me it "normal" 2lte problems. On cold start its really hard to start but when it does it runs very rough, miss fires like crazy, allmost stalls out, and TONES of smoke. Then 12 min later go out and shes warm, runs PERFECT, and drives nice. On and im only getting 280km per TANK. I have basic automotive knowledge and im positive that the misfire is whats consuming all the fuel. But pleeeeease if there is anyone on here that is local and could help me it would be unbelievable.

Ps... I had the fuel pump replaced about 2 months ago. But its been back 3 times all for the same thing and they say they adjust it.

Iv completly fallin in love with this truck and i dont want to get rid of it. But as it goes now i may have to bite the bullet and put her up for sale.

Hi, I want to know how much a diesel mechanic can earn annually. My cousin brother wants to start his work in diesel mechanic course. So what is the future for diesel mechanic.
