I am starting a complete rebuild of my 64 cruiser. I have stripped down to the tub, done some replacement of rear fenders and rear section tub floor. I have a fiberglass roof that is in O K shape but I was wondering if there is a metal roof for this year, or where can I find a new fiberglass one that fits. The one I have doesn't seem to fit well and I may be missing a metal plate of some type that goes over the windshield.

Also I am interested in putting disk brakes with a power braking system. What parts are recommended to put in a power brake assist?

 

wow, not a lot of posting here. This sounds like a really great project! I have a 74 FJ40 that I am working on. I don't know of any metal roofs for these models, I believe they are all fiberglass. When I bought my FJ back in 1991 it had a 78 top on it that didn't fit well. I later purchased the tub, front clip and top from a 69. I sold the tub and my 78 top but kept the 69 top because it fit perfectly. You might try Specter OffRoad for replacement parts. Also Cool Cruisers of Texas, although they are mostly into doing the restorations and builds themselves.

In addition the previous owner had done a front disk brake conversion but I converted the rear drums to disk using parts from a 2000 Landcruiser. I hope this helps.
