Well only had 1 fire so far (lesson, don't lay wrench next to battery while using another tool...). I do have the comprehensive insurance though.

Right now, to get me to work day in and day out. With some mild off-roading on the weekends when i have time.

Once i get another DD then it will become a dedicatied trail rig.

And the wheel cover feels better than the messed up leather on the wheel right now. Any idea on how to fix that?

Why the hell did you put the scoop on backwards? Did you have a gift card to autozone or something? OMG I think you need to sell your 4runner and go buy a civic

Well when I get the time to cut the hole for it mounting it this way will allow it to cool MUCH better. A friend of mine used to/still does sometimes race funny cars and when I would help him out I asked why his were all like that. He then showed me how mounting it backwards cool XX% better and also has a lot of other advantages.

Like when you start driving the issue with cooling is not usually the air getting into the engine bay but the air getting out. That is why some cars have the vents by the doors to let off heat. Well with it mounted forward it works ok when you are sitting still as the air can just rise out. But when you start driving the air coming in and the air that wants to get out create a barrier that pretty much renders the scoop useless. And when you really get going fast it will finally overcome it but it then has a problem of more air coming in than can get out.

When you mount it backwards the airflow is improved so that at idle the heat can rise out better. But when you start to move unlike the forward scoop it actually helps it cool the engine bay. And the faster you go the better it works. Plus you also don?t have a problem with leaves and rain ect being forced into the bay. There were more reasons but that is the main jest of it.

Oh, and yeah i might should get a civic but then it would just look like every other riced car out there. This way it is unuiqe!

I am speechless. I would never do that, but to each his own, I guess. It looks like he put a lot of work into it, you have to give him that at least. I highly doubt all those lights are legal though.

Rear mounted scoops are how all the real race cars are mounted. All the funny cars ect.. They do it because it works.

And well I am not sure, depends on if there are any cops around ;-)

I had thought about that but I want to keep the Airbag. It saved my dads life year back and I know another guy that it saved as well. I will not be getting rid of mine. But not a bad idea.

See, now if you were REALLY speechless then this post would not have been made and thus the shock factor is not good enough! I must find more to add to the shock factor!!!

Well this is a poor mans Cowl hood. And yeah once I cut the hole the temps should be a LOT less. I know that with just messing around a little it I can tell it should work wonders. If when the engine is running you feel around the hood you will feel a LOT of air tring to get out. The scoop will be right in the line to help air flow.

I plan to test the temps before and after when I do it so I will know for sure.

LOL, yeah i need to get one right away.

True I am not real worried about overheating at this point anyways. It is more that if i am going to do something like that i want it to work the best it possibly can.
