looks good, maybe a little too much bling though, flat would have pulled off better in my opinion but very clean looking nonetheless

i like those wheels too, look like pc'd beadlocked lc wheels

Very sweet rig!

Wanted to ask you a couple questions about your wheel/tire set up. Are those 33x12.50R16's? Also, I assume the wheels are 16x8's? Did you have to do any mods to your wheel wells at all?

The reason I'm asking is that just today I was looking in to getting some 16" Pro Comp 8179's (same specs as your 8023's) for my '99 Taco (3" susp lift) and the guy at 4 Wheel Parts told me they wouldn't fit. Your thread here gives me some hope that they will as I can't imagine the suspension geometry is all that different between my '99 and your '02.

Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I'm a former pointy nose aviator (don't hold it against me!).

Thanks!

av8rguy: My tires are 285/75/16 (32" x 10 I believe). With these tires and a 3" lift in the front, you will have to cut a 6" tall square out of the inner wheel well starting from the bottom edge and stopping just below the first bolt securing the lining. PM me if you want a pic. With this small mod, I have no rubbing at all! I plan on installing a 1" spacer kit this coming weekend, and if you do the same, you should not have to cut anything. To clarify, I am talking about cutting the plastic lining, no metal cutting. I just used a pair of scissors, worked great. With a 2.5" lift in the rear, I have had no issues yet and no need to mod anything.

mokai: I have not used the restorer yet. I plan on giving it a bath after I get everything installed. As for the brand, it is Mothers Back to Black - Exterior Bumper and Trim Care. I found it at Auto Zone and it comes in a small 8 oz red bottle.

Seat Covers

Well, today I got the Wet Okole seat covers on. Definitely worth the positive review they have had here on YotaTech. Note that this is a 2-3 hour job to put these on correctly. You will have to remove the seats from the truck and disassemble some parts of the seat to make them fit perfectly.

Right around $300 dollars. IMHO they were worth every dollar. They fit as if they were made by Toyota specifically for these seats. Of course they are not "perfect," but they are damn close.

1" Daystar Spacer Kit Returned

I am returning the 1" Daystar Spacer kit now that my truck has leveled out. Before the TireGate, spare tire, and All Pro Off Road Rear Bumper were installed, my truck suffered from perceived front end sag. Turns out that I just needed to reapply the weight on the rear end. Leveled out perfectly.

CB Radio Mount Position

I bought a generic accessory clip and mounted it to my dash as shown in the picture. I used a generic screw to securely fasten it to the plastic and then super glued the edges to prevent it from pivoting on the screw. I still have to touch up the mount with some flat black paint.

Just for reference, I have included a picture of where I mounted my fire extinguisher.

Lookin good, bro! I'm impressed and admittedly a little envious of your amazing progress in such a short period of time. Your truck looks great!
