My 99 4runner build

My 99 4runner build
Well the story goes I have always been a fan of the 3rd gen 4runner. I originally wanted one when I had got back from deployment march of this year. I ended up coming upon a great deal on a 2004 Toyota sequoia at my local Nissan dealer ship for $5600. It was a SR5 fully loaded except heated seats and 4wd. I really liked it except for the 15mpg I got around town. Got my feelings hurt one day and got it stuck.

I ended up selling the sequoia to my wife's uncle cause he needed the seating for 8. In search of something decent on gas I ended up getting a 2010 vw GTI. Fun car to drive but not practical me being in the army and having lots of gear. So i was on the hunt for a 3rd gen.

After months of looking I came across this 99 Sr5 4x4. Originally wanted a limited but not a fan of non heated leather seats and the wood vainer look just aint me. So the SR5 would do just fine. It has the sun roof and the tow package like I wanted. There is no e-locker but I found a complete donor 30 mins away from me and was told I could have diffs and wiring for $700. I ended up picking this rig up for $3900. He was asking $4300. Has fairly new tires, roof basket, and water pump and timing belt was done 7k miles ago. He thought the tranny was leaking it ended up being the transmission dipstick tube is split where the bottom tube meets the top one. Easy fix. On to the pictures.
First mod. Uga tag. GO DAWGS.

Other project lurking in the garage.

First things first good clean up.

Got a question these two plugs. They were just taped up behind the dimmer switch. I am guessing one is for the fog light switch and one for the Diff lock? Could someone let me know. Speaking of the fog lights I noticed the plugs underneath the bumper taped up. Do I just need a switch and lights?

My hvac control lights were out. Got some bulbs. Went ahead and replaced the ash tray and glove box light as well.

Good news was already K&N equipped. Just need a quick clean up.

Some parts from advanced auto parts. Picked up a Toyota oil filter for the oil change.

Someone in the neighborhood was having a yard sale. Picked these up for $50.

More to come shortly.

Small update. I picked somethings up for black Friday. Still waiting on my welder to come in. Got some pasti dip for my rear emblems and a B&M external transmission cooler. Also took a trip to a place called Biscuit Mountain in AL. It was an ok place. Mostly for hill climb kind of guys.
