Highlux's 99 4runner Limited

Well. I have had the 99 a while. Never really had to do alot to it. But its time for a little refreshing.

She's pretty nice. I have some rock chips in the front bumper to deal with.
Fog lights are not working. Passenger seat has gotten tore up from the Shepherds.

I did get a set of new tire today. Went with the Cooper Discoverer AT3. 265/75/16 Fit nicely and filled the wheel well out a bit. Really crispened up the ride. Really happy....guy I know from the street racing days runs a tire shop and got me out the door with road hazzard for $606.

Tread pattern

Ill post some pics of them tomorrow. I plan on painting the centercaps and was too ashamed of them to take a pic today. Going to do Satin black.

Now I have the tires on....I can try and diagnose this odd shimmy I have.
Does it from 65-70 or so. It is better since the new tires....but it is there.
It steals my joy when driving it.

So the short list:

Fix shimmy
Seat covers. Drivers is perfect...Zues rides shotgun so the passanger seat is on him. Im going to cover it for now and keep my eye out for an oak seat bottom pass side.
Fix fog lights.
Remove old 10 disc changer. Factory one...anyone want?
Repaint plastic body parts.
Running boards. I want em off. Wife drives it too and she is 4-11. She claims to use them to get in. Ideas?
Its got 113k. I need to do timing belt.

Good things...rear axles seal are fresh. Brakes brand new all the way around.
Runs like a top. Powerful. Decent mileage. e locker.

So time to start doing what I can and bribing freinds....lol.

Tell her my son's only 4'6 now and has no problems getting in the 96? Fold-down step? Stairs you keep in the cargo area and get out for her every time she needs them?

Looking forward to more pics and stuff.

Its an auto. Couldn't get the limited in a stick. Has the multi mode transfer case which is awesome.

Been trying to find a nice oak pass seat bottom.

Ahh, auto still is good, though. Traffic, kids, getting old, the cold. Well, I guess auto is always more convenient. Anyways, is an oak pass seat bottom just a seat cover that only covers the bottom/butt region of the seat? Google didn't exactly show me much..

I could get a new cover, but its like $350. I may check a upholstery shop.

I've heard amazing things about the Carhartt seat covers, for what it's worth.. You could be like me and collect 3-4 seats for your truck. That way, you've always got an extra Hahaha

Around this area finding 1 or 2 seats is.......difficult. Heck, finding anything in a yard is difficult. Mr. Lux, if you do get yours reupholstered how are you going to keep it from getting shepardized again? You know it's going to happen.
