yah, i've got on 4 balding 32" bfg a/t and can run this crap in 2wd! (well, locked) but man....people are just stupid!

hab - no flat belly (on the truck, at least!) - i've got the Trail Carnage skidplates that cover all the way back to past the d/s doors....love them - they've saved me!

i've sourced a warm garage for the timing belt redux, and a spare '99 4runner if it takes me more than a day! WOOT!

this weekend: outer tire rod ends (3rd time, omg!) and horn (i'll post this one, it'll be ghetto fabulous!) Thank god herself for a warm garage this weekend!

Well, this is my old one out of the Bronco but as you can see it's a bit....
vintage, so.....

 

Not much today, just changed the plugs. The ones that came out looked typically worn and life is good.

nice old school radio but how will it work with no cast iron radiator to hook it up to?

 

That radio used to be in an overhead homemade console in the '67 bronco. I've upgraded to a Cobra 18WXST II.

And affirmative on the scruncher tool, too.

 

I wonder how many ?s we'll get about the cast iron radiator comment?

I'm looking at the cobra myself where did you mount yours/

I'm already inventing how I installed the radiator just above the exhaust manifold and how it's an even tighter squeeze to get in and out than the starter and how it was hard to find the special antifreeze and how I tapped into the heater core lines etc etc.

That could be a cool retro mod idea to heat the back of pick up truck with a cap... get a miniature rad made and pump antifreeze around from a heat exchanger loop on the exhaust right after the manifold...
Of course it would'nt work when parked but it would pre-heat the "wolf den/love nest" while you were driving to "make out point".

 

Ugh! Science night at the kid's school, then the district science fair, then wiring the cb and routing the coax and checking the swr, then science fair and a hike (hey, it was a nice day out today)...

Yeah, I know I've got the carpet up on the driver's side- that's another project when it gets warm enough to use some silicone to attempt to seal a leaky window seal that drains in through the firewall grommet and onto the floorboard when it rains heavily enough.
I've still gotta figure out where to hang my mic, too.
That's not my coax hanging out on the passenger side, either.

Thanks! I got unbelievably lucky-with an L-shaped adapter for the coax it fit right into the stereo mount (pretty sure it's aftermarket) perfectly and the two together exactly into the existing trim piece. I pulled the all the plastic trim and panels on the passenger and ran the coax under it and out through the taillight wiring grommet.

I got pretty lucky on the wiring too. There was some old alarm wiring running from the engine bay through the firewall grommet to the interior that didn't need to be there so I used one of those wires in my setup and the other that was too small I attached to the new wire I needed to get from the engine bay to the inside and carefully pulled until I saw the new wire, clipped off the old and ta da! I was also able to use existing holes in the engine bay to mount both my relay (thank you, hubby, for helping me with that or I'd still be out there scratching my head) and my aux fuse block.

That really looks factory.
I had so many issues with were to mount my mic for my Ham radio. I finally decided to mount it under the display panel itself which was hanging out under and just in front of the glove box.
I have seen some pretty slick mic mounts for your set up. I am certain you will figure it out. Hell, after that CB install you should be working in the design department at Toyota!

 

Hey hab what is that digital display below the ashtray in front of the shifters? dvd unit?
