AlexXx's 1999 Tacoma PreRunner Build-Up Thread

Well figured I'll start one. I'll be converting to 4wd shortly, around Christmas time.

99 PreRunner TRD (so it says) Auto 4.30 gearing

What it looked like when I bought it:
32's and Daystar 2.5" Lift (Shackles and Spacer)

Here's what I've done so far:

All-Pro 3" springs
replaced 2" shackles with stock
rear line extension
Bilstien 5100's in rear
285/75/16 Federal Couragia M/T
Lock Right Locker
Made "quick" release doors.
Waiting on Camburg CO's form a TTORA member.

When I installed the All-Pro kit.

The small tires where spares laying around the yard after I got a flat in two of my 32's. Took a shot on these tires, aobut 3k on them so far and they ride great, good traction, and clean out nicely.

1" RB Body Lift. Yes I know, a BL on a prerunner. well get over it.

This is for Scuba. Someone recently wrote above it in Sharpie "sexism is for squares".

As it sits:

As far as for converting to 4wd, I have collected so far:
Front Diff (4.10, need 4.30 gearing to match the rear)
CV's
Spindle/Hub (manual hubs)
Shifter (J-shift)
Interior stuff (shifter console and boots)
Front Drvieshaft
Front portion of rear driveshaft

What I have so far:
4.10 Front diff, CV's, Spindle/hub assembly = $300
Front Drive Shaft + $85 shipped
Front Portion of Rear Drive Shaft, J-shifter, Floor Plastic Cover = $160 shipped
4.30 ring and pinion = $75 shipped

Total (so far) = $620

Other stuff still needed:

Shifter Knob
Rubber Boot
Trans Mount

I'll be looking for a trans and t-case (J-shift) around the end of November.

Disassembled for now

It needs to be PINK

Were you able to get the sharpie off?
I'd be pissed if someone did that to my junk. But on the other hand, I could just spray over it with the flat black.

Haha yea I got it with a handy dandy alcohol pad. Rubbing alcohol with get pretty much anything of a vehicle as long as the clear coat is still there. I was pretty mad tho, I saw the day after at a gas station while I was checking my rear end for a some noises.

No pink me tho!

Liquid RainX works well on sharpie marks as well.
Pretty sure it's paint friendly too.

They perform much better than I expected for a tires that cost $120 a piece! They clean out like a charm and really grip the terrain.
