I went ahead and installed the 3/4" Toytec spacer yesterday and got the tires mounted up. It definitely leveled the ride evenly.

The only issue I have at this point is that its going to need another alignment done on the front end after the spacer install. I can tell that the tires now lean to the outside slightly. Other than that, I don't think I will have any other clearance issues.

I did see that I have the 881s up front and 890s in the rear. So, no clue why Man-a-fre considers this to be their HD kit. :shaking:

But, I can't complain about the ride quality at all, and it does in fact clear the tires.

On a side note, are these Tundra calipers? They have been ground down A LOT to clear the wheels. And, the 4runner stops amazingly well even with the camper behind it, so I am thinking these are the Tundra calipers.

Scotty,

Reading thru your posts I'm wondering if 4.56 are the way I should be going?

I have an auto with 4.10 and I'm running 33 MTRs. I'm at 2K RPM when I'm doing 65mph

Maybe 4.88s are what I should run???

I will recommend 5.29s for anyone running 33s with the A/T from here on out. I will be ordering them this week since i just got the 34s on it.

Here is what RPMs you will be at:
With a manual @ 65 miles per hour with 4.56s and 33s= 2565rpms
With a A/T @ 65mph with 5.29s and 33s = 2451rpms

With M/T @ 75mph with 4.56s and 33s = 2960rpms
With A/T @ 75mph with 5.29s and 33s = 2828rpms

The math doesn't lie with the A/T. If you want the power and performance similar to the M/T you need 5.29s. Its that simple.

Well, gears are officially ordered. Should have everything installed by the end of next week.

I am a new Toytec dealer now, so I figured I might as well run what I am going to sell. So, I also went down on Monday and grabbed a 3/4" front spacer for the OME springs, a diff drop, and a 1" body lift.

The body lift is backordered a couple weeks, so the tires will have to wait to be mounted until then. Same with the sliders.

The tires are nice, but I wanna see more of that chopped cruiser!

(I tinker with cruisers as my other hobby)

Its definitely under-geared and makes a fairly noticeable difference. 5.29s will make it all good though.

Cant wait for the 3rd Gen bumpers. I'm still working to get my '87 pickup up and running and going to buy your stinger bumper for it. I was very glad to see you finally put up an option for a 2" body lift as I'm looking forward to a nice looking bumper/winch carrier w/o having to do any modifications to make it fit.

So, I had purchased some 58" sliders to use for the 4runner. One small problem. They just aren't long enough. The next larger sizes is the 67" ones. They were too long, so I just decided to build some of my own from scratch. So, I did some measuring and honestly a 62" slider is ideal.

So, I cut up some tubing for the install. The main square tube is 2"x2" .188 wall as are the legs. The outer tube is 1.75" .120 wall DOM.

I added some diamond shaped (superman) 1/4" frame plates to spread the load of the sliders on the frame and to keep the frame from denting when getting hit hard. Make sure you round the edges before welding.

I painted them with some Rustoleum Hammered tone silver. Unfortunately, they don't really match the color of the body, so I am going to order some matching cab paint to touch them up later.

I barely hear them at all. Remember though this is a very narrow tire. I honestly only notice a very minor difference between them and the M/S tires that they replaced. I am sure they will eventually get louder, but its not bad at all and much better than I expected. They are much better than my old 35" KM2s on my last 4runner noise wise and those weren't too bad either.

Great buildup man! I love what you are doing with it! I've got a 98 4runner that I installed the Toytec 3" lift on. I've got the 890 coils and some SkyJacker Shocks in the rear, with the spacer and diff drop in the front. I'm running 285's on it, but getting some rubbing when the rig is heavily articulated. Would a 1" body lift aleviate this problem? If so, how much does it involve?

Hard to say. It would give you more clearance to stop rubbing, that is for sure.

If you want, I now have a 1" body lift for sale brand new on the wrapper.
