For you 5-speed guys

What shifter nob do you use? My OEM one is starting to fall apart, and I wanted to see if you guys have had any experience with any aftermarket nobs. Wouldn't mind getting a TRD, but I haven't really found any that I like.

I've actually seen that nob before (the first one), but I wasn't sure it would work with the Runner. It's actually the one that was on the top of my list. I just can't seem to find anymore info on it. Let me know if you find out anything else on it, I really like that one. Keep em coming fellas.

That top knob will also probably fit, usually those shift lever studs are a universal size between vehicles, for example in the Honda's they all fit interchangeable between vehicles, for Toyota's that ball knob also fits interchangeably. The top knob is reported as fitting the Camry's from all the way back to 1983 to present, but I imagine it will fit within other vehicles too.

A HAH!!! Here we go found a quote from TRD Performance's website:
"Fits all vehicles with manual transmissions, except Supra 6 speed and MR2."

Thanks Mohamed! I actually just found the number to the guys who sell that knob. It's a Toyota dealership out of Houston, Texas. I have to call back in a few minutes because their TRD guy had stepped out to lunch, but that's probably the knob i'll end up getting.

It will probably add another 5hp to the engine!!!!

Sorry, could not resist....I like that TRD one. The factory one is kinda boring.

I myself love the T-Shaped handles. Anyone know if there is one that will fit my 1991 truck?

Be careful running a Honda shift knob. They use a smaller shifter than Toyota, so the knobs won't work. The 90-93 Celica's have the same knob as the 96+ 4Runners, and I found an old 2000 Honda Civic Si knob that I had and it didn't fit.

My vote is for the 1st TRD knob. That's the one I want for my car!

I "stole" the shift knob from that 2000 I bought off ebay. That thing was sweet! It is stitched leather like the TRD. Way better than that old plastic piece of junk knob that is now on a nice shiny 2000 somewhere.

Dude...I was kidding about that , come on now, how tacky can that be running a Honda knob on a Toyota? What is it, a Honyota?....

Dang only 5hp. Looks like I might have to break down and buy one with the neon light inside if I really want to hit the maximum horsepower

I made my own:

Can't see it in this pic but the tranny shifter is the same as the t-case shifters. Cheap $8 plastic ball turned down flat on top and a shift pattern attached. I made my own partly because I've never seen an aftermarket knob with my shift pattern on it, the fact that now all four match is a nice bonus

where did you buy your knobs from? i want to make a new one because all the good looking 4 speed knobs all have a muscle car pattern(e.g. reverse up and to the left)

Checker/Kragen/Schuck's. Came in the red packaging under the brand name "Help!". Work for me. I've since found some steel 1-7/8" diameter balls threaded appropriately (for me) that may be the next shifter knobs.
