Yet another question

Hey guy's..... my 4Runner is a '95 w/ factory 225's on it. (yeah, yeah.. I know. knock it off huh?) It now has 235's,They look to be 27.5 in. tall. I'm going to put 30x9.5's on it. ( I see no need for bigger, all I do is some bow hunting and a little muzzle loading, nothing hard-core)
So, will I need gears??? The change will be from the factory 225's to 30 in. tires. I know I can "just run em." Hell A buddy had 35's on a 92 toy pu w/ the factory gears. It was a dog....... but it went. To keep everything "same old same old", will I lose that much gearing and power, or would it not be worth the $$$$$.
Lemme know, and I really appreciate the help!

No you will not need to regear, spend your money on other more worthwhile mods. Mine also came with 225's. I currently have 255-70R15's which are 29.5 in high and 10 in wide. You will not notice much difference in engine power, maybe alittle less gas milage. Hope this helps.

You will probably find that the 30" tires actually measure out to 28.5 to 29.25 depending if you measure them vertically or horizontally. It will throw your spedometer and odometer very slightly but for the driving you describe won't require regearing.

You will know its time to re-gear when 4 Low range and 1st gear isn't low enough to keep from stalling in the hairy situations.

If I were you I would go with the 30x10.5s instead of the 9.5s. The 9.5s will work fine, but I think you will appreciate the size up.

I went from 225's to 31X10.50 and it was barely noticeable. I am sure you will not notice much at all going to that size. I was really surprised at how much better the Runner handled with wider tires!
