Talking yet another muffler question

ok, so i've settled on the maglaflow muffler.. my question is, how do the different muffler lengths affect the sound? the longer the muffler is, the softer the sound?? i don't know.. and also, if you have some suggestions for typical lengths on tacomas, that would be appreciated.

thanks,
Russell

Yeah, the longer...the quieter. My TRD was 22" and it was too quiet. I got the 14" and am happy. Sounded loud at first, but when the glass loosened, it quieted down a bit. As for 14" vs. 18", the 18" is a little higher pitched...and softer. Get the 14" if you want a deep growl. It drones slightly on the 4runner. I don't mind at all. It is virtually quiet at highway speeds. IF that bothers you, go for the 18". I don't know how a truck vs. the 4runner will sound inside though. The 14" sounds pretty sweet from outside.
