Yet another mod

Sunday I decided that I needed to clean up the back of my 4Runner. I was looking at it and decided to build stoge compartments. After $112 and 4 days this is what I made.

The compartments go all the way to the seats

Storage for my Hi-Lift. I am going to be making brackets to hold it better.

I will soon be covering these holes with expanded metal. This compartment holds my compressor and amp. It is open for cooling reasons.

Very nicely done, and looks great.

Can you strap it down with ratchet straps, and also the sub box?
I have both mine strapped down for safety reasons.

I'm in the process of figuing out how to attach the sub. The rest of the box is bolted to the vehicle.

I may do a write-up sometime. I will probably do write-ups on some of my other mods first.

Man,I really like that;that carpeting was the way to go and blends well with the rest of the interior,I prefer that to the uncovered wood.

I put triangle wedge pieces in the corners where the existing tie-down hooks are. The pieces are screwed to the box and I put longer bolts though the triangle pieces and into the existing hole.

Thanks, the carpeting cost about $30 and took about 3-4 hrs to do. It was definately well worth it.

to bolt down the sub just go to the hardware store and buy some frame aligners (little L shaped things with holes in them) and screw them down and then cover with leftover carpet. thats how my 6x9's are bolted on to my sub box and they havnt moved

ps that looks sick as hell

How and where is the compressor wired for power from? Where did you run the wire? All the way from the Battery up front?
I wouldn't mind having a compressor in back, I was just worried about the safety of wiring it from way up front.
Although, I do have a open tap from a distro block used to power an amp that is under my drivers seat. Would this be safe to use?
Definitely more fuses, right?

To secure the sub remove the driver and bolt the box down from the inside, then replace the driver. Invisible and theft-proof all in one.

I got the carpet from a car audio store.

I have a wire running from the battery all the way back. The same wire powers the amp and the compressor. I have a 3-way switch so that only one of them can be ran at once to avoid frying something.

the biggest question i have, is how did you get it in there? did you build it in sections? i really wanna build a false floored box like this for my 4runner. i'll probably wait until spring though.
