From what I understand manual hubs are when you get out of the vehicle to physically lock the front wheels to get into 4wheel drive.

Doink, look in Yotatech's Tech section listed on the main page here.
Then click on Maintenance, then look for the hub article.

You have the ADD setup on your rig now.
That means you don't have to get out of the cab and turn the knobs on your hubs.
They are always locked in.

While that is convienent, it also causes stress on your CV joints as they are always spinning.
Many folk's, me included, swap out the ADD hubs in favor of manual hubs.
I am using the factory ones like that came on my '90 truck I use to have.
Some use aftermarket ones like Warn in the above article I mentioned.

Though you have to get out and "manualy" lock in the hubs, it's worth it for the less stress on your front end.

I have more info on manual hubs on my website too in my mods section on page II or page III.
