Yellow Top Model

Alright, I've been searching for the past hour and a half and I cant seem to find an answer.

What kind of yellow top do I need for my 3rd gen???? What is the Yellow Top equivalent to the 34R for the Red Top?

HELP!

I thought I recall reading that people have installed the Yellow D34/78.

The yellow top with reverse poles is 51R. You can buy one from tna-sports.com. Here is a link for the yellow top with reverse poles.

51R Yellow top

Make sure you ask for the spacer too. Hope this helps.

Hmm...I saw on Summit Racing that there were some Yellow Tops that had about double the CCA value that the one in the link above does, course my car will be in the garage most of the time anyway and it doesnt really get all that cold here so I should be ok.

Thanks for the help guys,

Fink

I have (3) 34/78s and they fit the 1st gen spot just fine, but the poles are backwards it would seem compared to a 3rd gen...just lenghthen the cables or turn the battery around or use the side posts.

I wish the one that would fit in my 3rd gen had higher cca values, how hard is it to lengthen the cables? Something I could easily do myself? I need new terminals anyway, maybe this would be my chance to put on some heavy duty ones with auxilary outputs and such...what do you guys think?

im pretty sure i have the 34/78s on my 97 4runner. but the 51r looks nice.

i cutted a battery holder from some leftover mdf to raise it and hold it in place. the positive cable was alil short for me, but after semi cutting the tape holding the wires on the positive cable, i was able to pull the cable longer. the negative side was long enough. anyways i been running this ghetto setup for 3 years so far.
