WTF is the intake elbow? (yes, I searched)

:wtf: does the elbow do?

I would guess it has something to do with noise control.

Try a search on tube and ISR - it's come up as J-tube and the like. Some people say it's worthless, others say it's there to collect moisture.

I don't know personally.
