WTB a fr bumper valence for 97

Anyone have the valence for the front bumper? Im looking for one that is set for the factory fog lights if that makes a difference.

Thought maybe someone with an ARB or custom bumper might have their old one they'd consider letting go.

Thanks!

PP

The factory 96-98 valence is not set up for the fogs like the 99+. There are a few options.1) Upgrade to a 99+ bumper & valence then add the oem lights(valence dont work w/o the new bumper).2) A little cutting of the existing valence & some slim aftermarket fogs/driving lights can fit.3) Performance Products makes a valence that rivals the 99+ style and fits the 96-98 4Runners(needs paint and lights).4) PP also sells the Hella fog lights that were sold as a factory aftermarket accessory by Toyota for the 96-98 valence before they were disconued by Toyota. Hope this helps.
P.S. look in the private party 4 sale forums/Vatoloco had a painted one recently(96-98)

Thanks!

I was trying to find the private party sale forum, but missed it. I'll double check.

Reason Im looking for one is that the 97 I just bought has the hella fogs on it that looks just like other 4runners I've seen. I just assumed it came that way. The valence and one fog light lense is cracked, but everything else is fine. That was really the only cosmetic thing wrong with the vehicle.

Thanks again.

Sounds like you landed that 4runner.Congrats! If you get a chance post some pics. As you could tell from my 1st response I've run into the auxillary lighting challenges on this truck. I got mine some what kosher for now but still lookin at the other options I mentioned. The short term was cutting the valence for driving and mounting fogs below. I'm curious to see what ya got going on.

Hella ff75/ff50

hey pho, what kinda lights are those in the middle of the valence? i would like something like that and did you use the factory yota switch? thanks
They are Hella free form 75's driving lights and the lower are the ff50 fogs w/ clear acrylic stone shields. The make both fog or driving and the clear lenses look nice with the headlamp upgrade(multi-reflector).Yeah they are both on factory lighted switches. The switches are made for Toyota from Cole Hersee and you can get u'm cheaper outside of the Toyota name but thier not that expensive anyhow(15 bones)." A free form lamp has a reflector which is a computer designed complex shape.
The reflector does the collecting and the beam control. Some FF lamps have a
fluted lens. This fluting does little more than diffuse the light and
distribute the light more evenly. Free form lamps typically collect about
45% of the light available". A standard parabolic lamp puts out about 27% of the light. Big difference.
Hope this helps.

I used a dremel tool to cut a section out of the valence. I you look at yours close you will see that there are 2 vertical braces on each side of the valence for stability. I left those in tact but cut flush against them removing the section in between. A perfect fit for these lights and they sit flush or slightly recessed with the valence. I was concerned that they would shake or bounce when driving but they are as steady and firm as the headlamps. This setup is growing on me a bit. Its not steamline or a factory look but it is really impressive on light output. Ultimately I'll most likely end up with the 99+ bumper & valence. The evolution continues
