Just got my bfg all terrain t/a k/os put onm this afternoon and man what a differnece over the crappy discount tire pathfinder suv sports it had on before. the car drives straight down the road (never happened with the old tires no matter how many times they were balanced rotated etc etc) the suspension actually works instead of the tire being deflected every which way. and in the snow they eat right through to the pavement and take off no sliding or anything.

i wanted dualer a/t revos but they were on back order for 14 weeks so i got these and im very very impressed and they look awsome to boot.

 

Tire Rack has rivos all day long. Just put on 4 the past 2 weeks

 

In my opinion BFG AT's are the best all-terrain. ..and yes, pathfinders REALLY suck. I had a pair about 5 yrs ago...that was a $710 mistake.

 

I love my t/a ko's. Air them up to 60psi and you'll get a tad better gas mileage. Air them down to 15psi and hit the mud. they'll go anywhere. Decent traction on slick snow, great dirt and mud traction, and they look pretty hardcore.

Is the wear on the T/A Ko's about the same as the michelins LTX's (in terms of mileage before replacement)?
I get great mileage out of them but I need more agressive tread for all the snow up here. :pat:

they are "commercial rated" up to 65psi. (BF Goodrich says "these tires are safe up to 65psi" Most people wouldn't need that, only for loads (these are I think C-load rated... i can't read my sidewalls, covered in mud) but anywho, yeah I usually cruise w/ them from 50-60psi. Never had any problems, and i do get better gas mileage.

 

How do you like your Revos?

 

50-60PSI?! Warm or cold? If it is that high cold, then it gets increased with heat. I have never heard of doing it more than 40, heck, I found mine at 40 and immediately dropped them to 35.

 

Damn, mine were at 40 once. It was like the tires were the only form of suspension on the truck. Bumpy and rough and harsh and whatever you want to call it. Was at around 33psi immediatly. I value my back.

 

I liked the BFG's I had on my Ranger. The only problem I found with them is that they had really poor wet traction when the tread was at 4/32.

I just swapped out my MTRs and put on a set of Revos last week. So far I am impressed. Much nicer ride, super quiet, and great traction in the snow/slush/wet.

 

Which Michelin's? I have the LTX ATs w/50,000 miles on them. Not quite halfway thru their life (Most people think they look brand new). However they absolutely stink in snow (decent on rock/dirt).

Everyone i know around here puts on the BFG TA/KOs and gets ~40k per set (Tacos and 4runners; Jeep friends get 30k on TJs and YJs). They're all willing to buy twice as many tires due to how much better the traction is.

I bought 4 BFGs TA K/O yesterday from DISCOUNT along with black rock crawlers.

This one instance, he told me the price for the tires only, everything included and gave me a price of $518 and walk out the door with new tires on.

I'm talking about 31x10.5x15

 

When I toured the Goodyear Akron headquarters they blew up a wrangler AT with hydrostatic preassure. 180PSI. Also worth noting is that once on vacation my dad tried to level out the van by adding air to the tires. When my mom took it to Valvaline a week lator, all 4 tires were between 80 and 100PSI. We drove all the way from Lynchburg TN to Canton OH on those.

 

This is exactly why I am having trouble with the current LTX's (which I got at Costco in AZ) I have on.....they do stink in snow....BIGTIME!!!!. I got them when I was back out in AZ where the worst weather was a bad rainstorm......now we get a constant barage of snow.....up to 1.5ft at one dumping. So I did some reading and it seemed like the BFG and the Revos were both good but the Revos seemed to be the tops in the snow so they seemed like the ones to get......not to mention they were like $30 cheaper per tire ($150 vs $120) so I was leaning toward the Revos for that. So I was curious if other had as good of an experience with them as the reviews I had read?
