Window question on a 3rd Gen

I've had my 4Runner a little more than a month now. I've notice that the windows in the front, when rolled halfway down or so, are able to move around quite a bit. They also rattle a little when you close the door with window cracked. The back doors are pretty solid. I'm guessing this isn't normal, but I thought I'd check with you guys. I'm betting when I had my speakers put in, the geniuses screwed up the window somehow. I thought I'd save myself a little time and have someone else do the work I'll probably end up opening it up and see whats going on in there.

Thanks for any info.

take the door panel off and there are some screws on a 'holder' (dont know the part name) that hold on the windows to it. tighten them down and try it out.

I have a 98 and I agree that the driver's window is a bit noisy while it's up all the way or rolled partly down. Inherent, I think...

Yeah Bob, I've been checking out the writeups on your page since I picked up my Runner. They definitely help to fill my head with ideas

I've got the panel off but I can't find any bolts or screws that would do what I want. There are bolts that hold onto the glass, and there are crossed arms that slide the window up and down, but nothing that will stablize it from going forward, back.

3rd Gen X may be right, I kinda figured this may be the case, but it was worth checking into to see if anything could be done.

Thanks again

At the very least, grease the tracks while you have it apart.
