Common reasons for CEL?
#1
What are some other common causes for a check engine light?
I cleaned my MAF, cleaned the throttle body, the Amsoil has very little to no excess oil, my coolant level is above the full level...
anything else?

That reader is awesome for $200 on eBay but if you prefer a laptop one for $90, here ya go:

I love the PDA one for portability alone.

Check these guys out. I used the OBD2 logger which cost about 180 bucks, and it worked great. Used it on my OBD2 Talon turbo, and hooked it up to a Celica and worked just fine there. It seems to be much cheaper than the others that I've seen and it worked great for me. Just a though.

Since I'm starting to seriously consider selling my truck, I may just take it to a dealership and have them look at it and fix it professionally so I have that little sheet of paper
Still, I do have a Visor Edge PDA and it sounds like a handy thing to have...

The Auterra let's you download the software all you want.....I would urge you to give it a try because if you don't like it you didn't spend a penny. The Auterra can also be had off eBay for $160-190 if you are patient. There are also quite a few members on here that have the Auterra too......don't just take my word for it.
