Will this TRD Supercharger work?

Off a "car" with 120,000 miles.
The guy claims it worked just fine.
Wants $400.00.
How much work would be involved with this "bolt on", for my 1997 4Runner Ltd. with Auto tranny?

Off a car? Looks like a 1st gen trd sc for the 5vz. Well you need all the brackets and hoses. Then you need to worry about the fuel delivery and leaning out.
I picked up a second gen sc for 400 and then another 400 for the brakets and hoses and bolts. Then another 600 for fueling.

Looks just like mine

Should work fine, i got mine for $300, then $300 for a rebuild and have been running it for 2 years now with no problems.

I did find out that my bypass valve was leaking though so something worth checking, if it is i am working on getting a replacement valve made to fix the problem.

For fueling, you can go with a URD 7th kit like most or do what i highly recomend and get a nice Meth injection system and use that for the extra fueling, i removed my 7th injector 5 months ago and have been running on nothing but meth injection. Will never go back to the 7th.

It has so much more power, easier to tune, more consistent, safer, i am 100% happy with this setup. It is cheaper too.

Here is a thread with some reading on the subject: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/t...-power-222044/

Also got a few more older threads on installing the 1st gen SC like that including the TRD instruction manual if you search my user name.

Here are some videos on the subject I made as well:

There are more on my Youtube Channel as well.

It won't fit. You should sell it to me.

I think the biggest questions are...
Are all of the parts needed included?
How many miles are on it?

If higher miles I would have it rebuilt.

Def needs a rebuild. Minimum $300 - up to $750 if it needs rotors replaced.
Also, it needs a dynamic tensioner kit ($250 or so) gaskets, IAC check valve, a few random bolts.

I wouldn't pay more than 250 for it, unless he has the tensioner kit and missing bolts...

Then you will want fuel mods so you don't ping....

Yep, all that little stuff will add up fast if you don't get it with the SC to start with.
