How are you calculating you MPG? Are you sure you are doing it right?
Fill up the tank, reset tripmeter, drive 100+ miles, fill up again, divide total miles traveled by total gallons needed to fill tank. . Also, I have calibrated my odometer/tripmeter on highway trips and its only off by a few miles (i.e. 98 miles really = 100). So, if I've gone 150 miles its really 153, but it doesn't make that much difference dividing 150miles/15 gallons or 153miles/15gallons, the mileage still sucks.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the suggestions. Looks like I'll figure out how to adjust the tps and double check the afm.

You could try an electric fan and the ISR mod

Try running a lower pressure like 35psi in your tires. By the way, I get better gas milage with my windows down than with ac on. 19mpg versus 16.5mpg.

Lower air pressure would create more rolling resistance which would likely reduce mileage. The 3.0 is so underpowered that having the A/C on forces you to practically floor it all the time which obviously isn't good for gas mileage. Interestingly, I only get about 1 MPG better mileage with the A/C off than on when on the highway. I think the A/C really hurts the city MPG more than highway.

I used to get 22 MPG with my 4.56 and 31's but now that I have taller tires I'm getting 19 or 20 on strictly highway driving. I think you need to look at your gearing a little more. I think the auto trans has a higher OD gear so the 4.88's give it close to what my stock gearing was before the tire upgrade. If you have plenty of power on the highway then perhaps taller tires would help.
