It's not even a new engine, why does it cost so much money? The more I think about a supra swap, the more I want the 3.4L (well the 4.7L but it's new and mucho $$$) and a supercharger. Why are they so much money? They aren't that new an engine, you can get a late model chevy vortec V8 w/ more power and torque for LESS money, why is this?

 

RELIABILITY!

I personally would rather have Toyota 3.4L engine over any super-duty Chevy. What's good that Chevy engine will be if it'll break in several months?

After all, why did you decide to get 4Runner in the first place?

 

I got a 4Runner because I loved how it looked and drove, and it's a nice, reliable Toyota...d'oh...well I'd still like 300+ hp, 350+ lb/ft torque STOCK, not to mention the V8 sound...

 

how expensive do you think they are? i found the 3.0 to be more expensive than the 3.4 when i was shopping for a used 3.4. to me it was obvious that the 3.0 is just more in demand, as not too many people have burned up 3.4's. a nice 70k 3.4 complete with all accessories just went off ebay for $1200 and nobody even bid on it, however i would never bid on anything from ozgrl!!!! but i see them all the time, i had a guy talked down to $1500 on a complete 15k 3.4 and went with the one i bought because it was a better deal. anyways, just my .02. good luck.
