I wonder how many watts the inverter that Toyota uses in the Matrix car can handle?

Have you ever seen Roger Brown's setup?

He put in extra 12v outlets like I did, and also put in a 300 watt 120 v power converter.

Not sure if I'd ever need the shore power like that.

Now this is one of my future mods I hope to get done this this year.

I'm still waiting on WATRD to do his so I can get some pointers on the installation.

 

I'll see what kind of specs I can dig up on the Matrix one. I have a small portable one that's good for charging a laptop and other light duty chores.

Nothing like a nice hot shower in the middle of no where. I'll be interested in where you put the mechanicals for that. My engine bay seems really cramped!

He also has the deluxe setup with the detachable hoses at the rear bumper.
Same thing I will do, except I will copy WATRD and make a bracket for the ARB bumper.

With the hard wired setup, you don't have to hook the temp cables to the battery.
Everything is hard wired in, and you just flip a switch in the cockpit when you want a shower after you put one hose in a lake, river, ect for a water source.

Rober Brown also has one of these.

He normally builds or fabs all his stuff, but he decided to go with the R&M unit.

 

Done it. 350 watt inverter hardwired and sitting under the passenger seat. I've got a 2 plug outlet under the seat and an extension cord out to the back side compartments.

It's a lot cheaper than getting 12V adapters for the digicam, cell phones, laptops, etc. Since I live in an apartment I also use it for small tools like the dremel for those noisy projects.

Dandeman has a good inverter setup too and it's outlined on his website.

I'll make that shower someday too, I'm just waiting for my parents RV shower pump to give out so I can get it and rebuild it.

Don't know if i'll go to the trouble of hardwiring it in the '94.

As far as the shower system goes, Corey I don't know if you remember seeing my shower system when I met up with you guys a couple of years ago but had to turn around because of engine trouble. It was in my 1st gen, but I took it out before I traded it in. I plan on installing it on the 2nd gen once the weather gets a little better. I'll post pics, maybe a write-up once I get to it.

I may actually get to installing the shower this coming weekend. This past saturday was spent doing rock lights, suspension mods and a bunch of other stuff, but I only have two things ahead of the shower now.


I have a 1500 watt continues, 3000 watt peak inverter mounted under my passenger seat and have it hard wired to a GFI socket flush mounted to the back edge of the toolbox. There's nothing like having a blender to make a margarita when you get into camp a the end of the day

 

I have a 700W continuous 1100W peak inverter mounted on the floor behind the passenger seat. I am using an amp wiring kit to supply the power to it (4ga wire from battery/fuse block to distribution block under passenger seat- 2 8ga outputs-one to inverter and one to 12 volt outlet in the bed.) On the other side of the inverter is an "outdoor" water resistant outlet mounted on the bedside near the Powertank/20L water can. This inverter is good for like 7 amps.
