Ok. Thats sweet. You qualify as a 'Yota owner. I'm just kinda curious about these guys that just drive around with Runners and think there just for show.
To each his own, I say. I've seen some pretty aweful street 4runners here in LA, but at the very least you gotta give them credit for buying a Toyota.

BFG ATs are non directional, they work the same either way. With that particular tire i'd say white out. There are several knock off genaric brands that try to copy the tread of the AT. The best way to tell that you have the real thing is to have the letters out.

On my new MTRs I had white raised letters out and I wish I hadn't. First of all the installer didn't take the blue coating off of them so they are still blue, not white. There really is no knock off copy of the MTR yet, you can tell they are for real from a distance without the lettering. If people want to judge me by the lettering on my tires they can. But they are idiots if they do.

I don't really care as long as they take me where I want to go.

Everything on mine is all black, and my personal opinion is to put the white facing in. I think it's easier to clean, and like the gnarly look of the all black BFG's.

-I don't need the the white letters to say redneck.... I have Arkansas Tags that say ADRNLN, and a big redneck sticker.... At least I did, until I got married and my wife took a razor blade too it.

For those complaining about cleaning white lettering use a squirt of soft scrub with bleach on a brush.. Takes about 5 seconds on each wheel and they will look BRAND new when your done!

I dunno, I have my white lettering out on my 32 BFG's but I am going to get some MT Classic II wheels and then I will flip them around and have the white inside, it's just more my style, and less for me to clean. Good luck, let us know what you go with.

White In

I run mine on the inside. Came from the factory that way. I prefer stealth as much as possible anyway. As far as white lettering goes, the style and size of the BFG's lettering is the best out there, IMHO.

Just do what you like. As you can see, everyone has their own opinion. All that really matters is how you like them.

What about the Wild Country lettering? Anybody run WC's for offroad? I prefer them over BFG's.

Yep, my pics above are of Wild Country TXRs.

I like the white lettering on Wild Conntries better than any tire.
First off they are a hollow white letter, not a solid white letter that is more prone to getting cut if you scrape it up against a rock.

I have had solid white letters, and the hollow white ones, and I prefer the latter if I am going to run white letters out.
I just like the looks of the hollow lettering better.

By the way, this is my second set of TXR's on this rig.
Still have the first set, and they are on right now as my winter set.

I also ran two sets of the Wild Country RVT's on my '90 truck I use to have.

Both are great tires, and my next set might be the same also, only 32s next time.

Corey,
I used to run TXR's on mine but switched to the RVT Trac./offroad tire. I like 'em a lot better for looks and offroading. Both good tires. Just curious why ya switched. Does the TXR get better traction? Thanks.

The RVT's I had on the old rig were not the same as the ones you have now.
Here are the ones I use to have.

Regular RVT

TXR, much more beefy, and a mud & snow tire

RVT Trac's like you have, the most beef

The ones you have are the same ones that Rob runs on his Tacoma.

So yours would get more traction I bet than mine.
I think Rob also told me they are quieter than my TXR's somehow.
Mine howl, and are louder than my Magnaflow muffler.
I can really hear my tires above 25 MPH, but I don't mind the sound at all.

How do you like yours?
Mine are great in the rain, and I have never hydro'd them or slipped.

i dont know what id say. white in on mine just because everyone has BFG ATs around here and try to be cool with the white out. but they arn't. also, my truck is all black so black tires will look good.

edit: ps. oh right. when i get my BFG's that is. if i get BFG MTs i will probably go white out just so everyone knows i have muddin tires. hahaha

Hey all! Thanks for all the suggestions! After reading everyones responses, I still think that I am going to run the black on the outside. My truck came with the stock tires with black on the outside, so I figure I should keep it the same way!

I think it's personal preferance. But white letters out to me look to "80s"

Might as well get an '85 Z28

I wanted the letters to be on the inside. Two of my friends put the letters out, and said that it looked better. Just wondering what others thought!
I always have the white lettering turned to the inside. Sure if they point out they stand out and look better, but they are a b!tch to keep clean.

I would put the white letters out. They are not at all hard to clean. Buy some Whestly's Bleache White. They sell it at every auto parts store in the exterior care isle. A few squirts and a brush are all you need to keep your letters looking great. Even if they are really dirty (like mine are right now).
