Where is the tail light relay...?

...on a '96 4Runner? My dash lights, tail lights, and "left your headlights on chime" are not working and, from what I've found on other threads, it should be my relay. I've checked the No. 8 10A fuse and it is bad. New fuses keep snapping as soon as they're installed. I think its a short somewhere or this relay.

1. Would a bad relay cause the continued blowing of fuses?

Other Information: I plugged in trailer lights the other night while the headlights were on. It sparked a bit.

Any other thoughts?

On my 2001 it's in the fuse block under the hood. Check there.

That's right. I found it right above the other fuses and labled and everything. Its strange that none of the literature calls it out as being there. The part should be in tomorrow. We'll see if that does the trick.

FYI the fog light, defroster, EFI and power outlet relays are all the same as the tail light one. You can try switching in one of them before you buy a new one.
