Where do you put your spare tires?

I had someone in the back seats a lot when wheeling, I really miss that with this truck - even kids won't ride back there.

Waiting to be Line-Xed and put on my 85. VERY NICE custom bumper...that does everything you want except the shock thing...I should have it on in a few weeks when the weather warms up to paint outside.

I really like that bumper and even thought about getting it for a while. Unfortunately I need to tie my shocks to it, as you mentioned. Also I am going to run fiberglass skins on the back to hide my fender well trimming, so I don't know if that would allow for enough clearance. I'm afraid Cu$$$$$tom is going to have to be the way for me.

I don't understand why the shocks must tie into the rear bumper???

There are some photos. Poseur shots mostly.
The pland was to build a 4Runner between the 2 schools of wheeling. Do each moderately well, and keep it useable as a camping vehichle. It has been referred to as an "enduro", although I have no idea what that means.
I put long travel IFS up front which excels at quick stuff and has decent flex. In the rear I am going to install 62" springs under axle(It took a while for me to come to terms with this). For a rear setup like this, it is cutomary to cut through the bed to allow for maximum shock travel (If you already know this stuff, ignore it). I use my 4runner to haul music equipment and furthermore to sleep in it, so this was not an option. Protrux (Who is building it for me) says that it would be strongest if we tied the shocks into the bumper. I imagine they mean attached to the bumper, but behind it. Nothing has been drawn up yet, but the bumper sounds to be integral to the suspension design.
Oh yeah, "laying the shocks down" is hardly optimal...so to make up for the decreased effectiveness of the shocks, I believe I will have to double up on them.
