When did Toyota stop making a super basic tacoma?
I was just searching for the heck of it and it appears they no longer do a 2wd 4cly 5spd Taco?

The 5 spd option on the 4 cylinder seems to be discontinued as of 2018: https://toyotanews.pressroom.toyota....oss+lineup.htm
'Certain models' meaning higher cost packages with the V6 motor.
Other than the manual trans, you can get a basic 4 cyl 2WD pickup built on their configurator for a $23,6K MSRP. Partway through the build, there's an available -$1700 option that drops the price down from the SR model MSRP.
The 5-speed manual transmission is discontinued for 2018, though the 6-speed manual transmission remains available on certain models.
