Hey all,
I've got this weird buzzing sound coming from the engine. It happens while in drive between 2600 rpms and 3200 rpms. It sounds like a swarm of bees in a can. (best description I can give)
I do have some pining that I'm trying to figure out too, so I'm not sure if they are related. Somebody told me it could just be the smog pump, but I dunno. Any ideas?
Thanks for any help.
Have fun all.

I had a similar noise problem with my 95 4Runner. It turned out to be a cracked weld on the heat shield for the cat. (no, really) Seems the buzzing noise was traveling up the exhaust pipe. The installer @ the local Scotty's zapped it for me and...... no more bees!! Of course, it could be anything though bud. Good luck hunting it down.

The same type of thing has been happening to my truck. It sounds like it may not be the same type of noise, but I noticed when I tightened my air cleaner nut it seemed to quiet down. My truck is carbureted so the air cleaner housing is different than a fuel injected, but you could still investigate the intake. I still have not figured out my pinging issue though. If you want some more information, try searching for some of my posts.
