what's the best 4 banger muffler
Hey guys,
Been thinking a lot about changing out my muffler on my '01 Tacoma. I'm running a cat-back flowmaster on my V6 Ranger, and it sounds great.
I wondering what you guys think would sound the best on my little 4 banger.
Thanks

My brother just put a super 44 on his ranger, and it sounds very very similar to how the super 44 was on my old 2.7 4runner. That should be a good cross-reference. Isn't the ranger v6 like a 3.0L?

I'm thinking that displacement is not the only factor anyway. A V6 would sound different than an in-line 4, right?
So what do you think sounds the best on a 4 banger Toyota truck?
Mine sounds a little like a sewing machine right now. I just don't want it to sound like a louder sewing machine.

I have 10 series on my chevy bbc, 40's on another chevy sbc, had a 40 on my samurai 1.3, super 44 on my s-10 -4.3, and have a 40 on my runner -re. It just depends on how loud you'd like it, and how much drone you want to put up with in the cab. They all sound good- and grow on you more and more over time. like this wierd green thing------>

You're entitled to your opinion.
For me, I was looking for the opinions of others, based on personal experience of those with similar vehicles. Isn't that what an on-line forum is for?
BTW, I did a search and found no results that would answer my question.

for exhausts i usually go "economical" no emissions testing here
hollowed out cat welded to an old glass pack from the back of the shop,
sounds half way decent....good deep tone at lower rpm's and not too loud to cause unwanted attention when ya get on it....
