When I was replacing oil filter on my 02 Runner I accidentally cut a wire. If you look through the wheel well, the wire sits just below the oil filter. There is a connector for this wire that plugs into a bracket welded to the frame just to the left and below the oil filter. There a 2 wires going into the connector, one white and one black.
I reconnected both wires, but I wan't able to seal them with stock rubber plugs as well as they were sealed originally.
Does anyone know what those wires control? I traced them and they go into a fat harness that's routed at the top/front of the radiator, so I really can't tell what they do.

Where does the other end of the wires go? You said one way goes into a big harness... what about the other way? Maybe an 02 sensor?

I never traced where it comes out of. I spent much to much time playing with the truck on Friday. I was just happy to fix the wire and call it a day
I was just hoping that someone would know without having to trace it. Maybe someone with a wiring diagram?
You really can't miss that wire if you ever pull the wheel well flap on driver's side.

 

When you turn the ignition on but don't start it does the 'OIL' idiot light come on? If not you cut the oil pressure sensor wire.

 

This topic heading is exactly the thing I like to see when I'm having a bad day!!! Makes me feel like I'm not the only one the world hates. Yay!
