I got a dum ? what is the best way to remove the rear shocks i need new ones and i just put 99 runner springs on my 01 with 180k

( I know just lossin up the nut and they come off right,....right)
please help!

That's a tough one. I went and bought a grinder with a cutoff wheel (a sawzall would probably work too) and cut the shock through the bushings just below the mounting plate. If you cut too low on the shock, it will spray oil all over, so you have to be careful and cut through the bushing. I just dropped the spare tire out, put the rear axle on jackstands and climbed right under the bumper. Once you cut through, the top nut will POP and end up rolling around on the mounting plate. You'll end up with some bushing material all over you, so wear grubbies and safety glasses. Get the tools to do it right, and it will go fast. I tried a dremmel first and it was a waste of time. I'll bet I could do it in 45 minutes start to finish if I had to do it again. Hope this helps
