What is this on my windshield

What is this thing glued on my windshield. It has wires coming out of it going into my headliner. I am not the orginal owner.

I assume you aren't the first owner?

Peraps it's a cell phone mic.

i think gapguy is right. i betcha that wire is loosely tucked under the front lip of the interior roof panel. if you feel like 'living on the edge' tonight, pull the wire out and i betcha it will lead from the center, across the driver's side, down the a-pillar and probably onto a brown wire leading to your aftermarket stereo system

...oh yeah, reduce that pic width

Awfully big for a mic...

My guess is a receiver for an aftermarket alarm system.

I was going to say that to midi...either that or a keyless entry of some sort.

It looks very similar to my alarm antenna. I have a remote start paging alarm with a range of about 1/4 mile and it uses an antenna similar to that.

Thanks, I've had the truck about 2yrs and really never noticed it. I think I'll just leave it alone. It isnt hurting anything.

My wife has one on her Grand Prix. She had a remote starter put in, and they put that in for the reciever. There are wires going into the headliner, down the A-pillar and behind the dash to the brain box for the remote starter system. My second guess would be a security system.

That's what I would say also. I had a viper alarm that came with a signal booster that looked similar to that.

It might have something to do with auto adjusting mirror or maybe daytime running lights. Just a guess.
