what mileage is everyone getting?

I did a quick search and didn't see a thread like this, so I figured I'd start one after figuring out how abysmal mine is.

Currently getting 11.2mpg. (only got 16mpg with p225/75/r15)

Tires: 31x10.5
Gears: ??? (maybe 4.10s?)
Engine: V6 3.0

Work Done: Drop-In K&N, Injector Cleaner, New Fuel Filter (what else would help improve mileage)

(note to dlbrunner, not hijacking your thread, didn't see it till after I posted this, i mean, 6 min apart is kinda wierd)

My '90 (manual tranny) would get about 20 mpg with the stock 31x10.5's, country backroad, and about 21-22 highway.

My '00 was getting 19.5-20 with the stock 265/70/16's but went to about 17.5 mpg with new 265/75/16's. Not sure why the large drop. I calculated that I would see about .8 mpg loss, not 2-2.5 mpg. Oh, well.

I would check that your gearing is correct for your tire size.

With a lead right foot and around town traffic with ECT on im getting around 15-16mpg. Staying out of it yeilds 17 around town.

Highway usage at 80mph has me at 18 and if I drop to 70 I break 20mpg...

235/75r15 BFG KO's with the extra load range (heavy ass tire)

3vze, auto, 4.11s

Just a shade under 16mpg here and I'm stock except for 265/75 tires which comes to about 220-230 a tank and my mom gets 260+from her '99 Limited and while I drive a little different from her I'd still expect a little better. My '97 was a 5 speed and I always saw over 270 a tank and that was with a little bit of a lead foot too.

Getting an average of 19 mpg with auto, 3.0, and 31x10.5s. Most of my driving is highway though. Would like to put some headers on soon.

Hey, Green. I also am running the 3.0 with 31x10.50s, which is how it came stock. Don't know gearing . . . haven't got around to looking it up. Mine has an auto trans vs your 5 spd, everything stock. I average 15-16 local & hwy combined. Best I ever got was 19 (once) and the worst tank I ever got was 12, towing a trailer.

Yeah, I typically lose about 3-4 mpg when I tow. My camper pushes close to 3,000 lbs and the boat goes around 2,000 lbs..

'97 SR5, V6, 4x4, 5 speed, stock suspension, LT265/75R 16 6 ply tires.

Mobil 1 synthetic oils throughout the driveline, Mobil 1 grease in the U-joints, and double-cardon joints in the drivelines, Mobil 1 ATF in the power steering.

Dynomax ultraflow muffler, K&N air filter, my own version of the deckplate mod.

I get approx. 21-22 mpg in mixed driving (city/highway)

Highway mileage varies depending on speed, at 65 mph I get 24 mpg. At 75 mph I usually get 22 mpg.

I don't drive very aggressively, there's no point. These trucks are slow no matter how you drive them, so I save the speed for more appropriate vehicles.

Last time I checked I got 15.x after a long (for me, 5 hours) trip. The wind was blowing HARD right at me for about 2.5 hours of it. I could see gas gauge dropping and it rarely went into overdrive. Sucked . Once the wind quit it was better.

I would occasionally get 22-23 on my 22re 4wd TRUCK, but usually about 18.
I get 17-19 with my 3.4 Tacoma, best of 20.

running out on the highway the last couple days(trying to burn off gas to put in a new fuel pump today) i think i came up with an average. put 8 gallons in yesterday, took out 5 today, put about 80 miles on the truck since i put the gas in. that'd be about 26mpg on the highway.

No idea what you guys are going on about, the poster is in Canada, and comparing that to someone in Florida is a big waste of time.

I can tell you about the 3.4: is takes roughly half an hour of driving to bring up the engine temperature to around 190F if it's around 0F to 10F outside. In those condition I get 11-13mpg city since most drives do not even bring it up to operating temperature. When it's 60F+ in the summer it goes up to roughly 18/21.

ahh, feel so much better about my mileage now.. lol, yea.. its around -30C daily here, wierd you say that yours takes 30min to hit optimal temp.. usually after 5-10 min, my temp gauge at the half way mark.. engine really hates it when the temp is -45C (takes 3 cranks.. ) but yea, most of my trips, to and from work are 10 min and less (in the city).. with the odd 45 min run out to the sticks.
