What to do if you hydro lock?
When I was 4Wheeling a few weekends ago up by Animas Forks, I saw a guy in a rented Jeep Wrangler floor it through a stream and kill his engine.
Smoke started billowing out (steam?) and he was dead in the water.
What can you do to get going again if this happens?

Connecting rods bend, and/or blow a head gasket. Depending on how severe, its driveable for quite some time after you do the stuff sdastg1 said.
Pull motor, replace bent parts, send off the head to be reworked, reassemble it all and then sell it to your little brother, who will drive it for another 100K miles.

The intake on the jeep sits really low and sucks in water really easily. That happened to my brother but he used the pull the plugs and crank it method and it worked for him.

My co-worker has a Jeep Wrangler and he was out camping with the top off. Rainstorm came through and soaked the Jeep interior. He bailed it out, it still ran but the check engine light came on. Turns out the rain fried the computer. Big problem is Chrysler doesn't stock the computer for his 10 year old Jeep. He's been searching eBay and other forums but he might be hosed.
