What to do with $700.00???
Ok. Here's the deal. I've got 30,000 miles on my 02 4Runner SR5 4X4. It's 99.9% stock. Do I get larger tires and a Daystar or Revtek lift? Or do I wait until I can afford the SAW/OME setup and just get the tires for now? I know the SAW/OME setup is ideal but I've only got so much cash to play with. What's your two cents???

If you don't feel like saving (prudent thing to do
), I'd suggest looking at how long it will take you to get your lift and research whether or not the tires you plan on getting would interfere with your driving while you're at stock height. If so then you have your reason to save and hold on to the cash.

Buy Air Force Ones. I used to be a not cool kid but then i bought a pair of those and got all the ladies.
I personally would get OME's, but I have no valid opinion on lifts whatsoever, that's just what I am looking at.

I have OME's sitting on the shelf beside me, and I get wood everytime I look at them.
I'd say save up for the OME/SAW combo. The amount of satisfaction is worth it.
OR, you can do the silly thing like I am doing, and put it towards your truck payments if applicable. I am getting $4500 on Friday and it's all getting tossed towards the truck loan

im just the opposite of most here, i had about $1000, but wanted a lift and sliders "now" everyone was telling to hold off and get the OME the first time, wich i see there point, but i had to have it now, i know that ill be able to sell the cornfeds on ebay or something, "when" im able to do the "right" set-up later, so i say,, Do what makes "you" happy.

As for lifting: Get it according to what you plan to do w/ your 4runner. Application is very much dependent on what you plan to do and how you use it. If you don't plan to do some crazy offroading then you're fine w/ spacers. It's better to spend on stuff you really need

Save the cash for something bigger. I'm in the same boat. I could buy a lift for my ride now for $1,300... But if I wait three months I could have an SAS. So I'll be waiting. Resist the temptation. I know it's hard. I'm having a really hard time with it.

GET WHAT YOU NEED FIRST.
if ground clearance is limiting your off-roading, get a lift and tires.
if traction is limiting your off-roading, get a locker or agressive tires.
if power is limiting your racing, get a supercharger, etc.
if youre not comfortable driving, get new seats.
get my point? dont get what everyone else has, get what you need.
first find out what you want to upgrade/modify. then try searching through the threads and decide with specific product is best for you.
ex: some people love the OMEs, some think theyre too stiff. some love the SAWs and some dont. some like MTRs, some like Dueler Revos...
