I just installed a set of NGKs and if they can hold up to the abuse they endured in my modded Eclipse then they'll be fine in my Runner.

Denso and NGK are the OEM parts, at least on my truck. They are also the best that I have tried.

NGK's in the 4Runner
Denso's in the Celica

Either will do fine in your truck!

Of all the different plugs I have tried, NGK have worked the best. One obvious difference was the smoother idle.

I'm actually not sure. I just went to NAPA and asked for the oem replacement NGK's, I wasnt too worried about them being the iridium or platinum because they get changed every 30k miles. I do know they were about $4 a piece.

Heres a description from ngk on the plugs i bought:

"Multi-ground electrodes improve ignition capabilities and are less sensitive to increased voltage requirements due to gap growth. Designed to specific manufacturer ignition requirements in either supplementary gap, intermittent discharge, or semi-surface discharge, all for various firing tip self cleaning abilities. Platinum center electrode for extended life. Multi-ground plugs maintain all features of NGK's traditional plugs including corrugated ribs, pure alumina silicate ceramic insulator for greater strength and better heat transfer, copper core and triple interior seal."

I dont know about the whole 100k mile thing unless thats the iridium, the oem denso's in my truck looked like crap at 50k miles plus i had a CE light because one was fouled.

I wouldn't trust any plug to last 100k, but that's just me...

If you do it yourself, it's such a cheap maintenance item that you might as well replace them every 15-20k miles.
