WF gauges in new PP catalog for 99-00
Just got the new PP today. Saw my '99 gauge faces inside. White with blue numbers. It's a NR auto 'overlay'. They were bozo's when I first went looking for WF. I see PP is selling their stuff now. I would'nt buy it. It shows their tool for pulling the needles off.
No way. It has blue numbers BUT, it overlays over your stock gauges so the factory lighting shows through the numbers..kinda lame, nothing like reverse Indi. Must have been some demand for it. It might be OK for those who don't wanna mess with electrical hookups since there is none. I'm gonna wait for the real deal...if it happens. Sharp lookin' Sequoia on the cover..if Toyota had made it smaller like the 4Runner and that was the '03 Runner, I think that would be a nice look.

I second Brian's opinions about their product. A few years ago, the owner sold me 4runner gauges that he said would fit on my 99 with a little bit of cutting. He was so wrong. Worse, when i tried to get a refund, he was argumentative with me, denied talking w/ me, and told me basically too bad. Well theres this thing called credit card charge back and he sucked it up eventually.
They are located in the San Fernando Valley (CA) just like PP, so I imagine it was convenient to go with them. I don't know why else.
I'd look elsewhere for WF gauges.

Hey Phil. The beauty of the Indi & reverse Indi faces is that it is designed to go over the stock faces. In case you want to go back to stock. They are powered yet still very flat/thin. Unlike the NRauto/PP overlays which depend on the stock bulb lighting to project through the colored numbers. They could also be replacement faces which mean you have to pull the stock faces off and pull needles which could be a PITA and need recalibratrion. Too much work and error possiblities for me.

Yeah, that is how mine worked too. The thing is this, the face is very thin and there is a wire attached to the face itself. That entire face lights up, but there is a covering over the reverse indi that only allows the light through at the numbers. It is just like a watch. I guess the whole thing with indiglo is that there is absolutely no heat at all, which is good so it does not melt the tape that holds them on. They just go right on top of the stock face, which is easy. The biggest problem I had was the needles rubbing on them, so we just sanded them down and they worked. Really easy, just takes some patience and work and you will be more than happy with the results. :fireman:

Well, let's see. My dad actually came up with the idea. Basically what we did was pull the needle up alittle bit. Then we put some sand paper (220 grit or so)with adhesive on the back on an old knife and sanded the bottom of the needle, actually the black part that rubbed the face. We took enough off so you could see light through the needle and the gauge. Joey wrote up that it is important that the needle falls back on that post when you move it, and it IS very important. That is the main reason we did it, so it would fall back. Any other questions, let me know. Are you going to get some gauges somewhere Phil? :fireman:
P.S. Phil, the faces do not let any bleed through. They do a great job, but the needles still light up from the stock lights, so that is cool. Also, for mine, I did not get any thing but the faces (Anti lock indicator, 4WD, etc) So I had to keep the stock lighting. I hooked up power and ground right to the stock wiring coming into the back of the dash pod, so it was super easy. The hardest part was putting the faces on and getting them so they did not rub the needles!
