Water Getting into Coil Packs?

97 tacoma 2.7, distributorless ignition(means I don't have a distributor).
Situation: during heavy rains, water will get in behind the plug wire that connects to the spark plug coil and short my ignition system out causing intermittent misfires. I am about to silicon the top of the plug wires where they enter the coil pack, but wanted to see if anyone has had this problem with a 2.7 motor.
Thank you.
Chad

Chad, in my 99 Tacoma, I had the 2.7 and dealt with the same thing. I also siliconed the wires and I didn't have a problem after that. I don't see any reason why it won't work for you.

Thanks for the reply tacoclimber.
